This series is continued in loose consequence. In the first output it turns around the different types of cameras.

Cameras that are suitable for our purpose can be divided into two groups:
  • Compact cameras

  • Reflex cameras

Compact cameras:
Simple compact cameras are equipped with a fixed 32 mm focal length. This enables large screen window to be represented. Details are only shown if you are close to the object which is to be photographed. Focusing and exposure take place automatically, so that it is is very simple to operate such a camera.

Versatile compact cameras have contrary to the simple one advantage. You can influence the window and the picture design with the inserted zoom objective quite well. Frequently these cameras have even different exposure programs, so that with these cameras quite good pictures can be taken.

I would also like to mention the one-way cameras. These are a good substitute solution if you forgot the camera. And they can be bought at almost each gas station or in the supermarket.

Reflex cameras:
With manual reflex cameras there are usually problems if you are dependent on someone else that is not familar with photographing. By the manual adjustment of exposure time, screen and sharpness the strangest pictures are taken frequently. If you have someone that can handle the camera well you get outstanding pictures. A further advantage is that youdo not need battaries for these cameras and they are very durable.

Automatic reflex cameras are equal in the handling with the versatile compact ones. But the advantage is that you can make outstanding pictures by different adjustment possibilities, objectives and filters. A further advantage is that that you can shoot good self pictures by using a remote releases and after some exercise. Many compact ones have a selftimer but the time is too short to be able to present a carp quite well.

Result:
If you dont want too good photos you are quite well served with a compact camera with zoom. If you are intend to publish the photos, is it with a slide show or in a magazine, or you have high requirements to the photos you need a good reflex camera. I personally prefer an automatic reflex camera for fotos and for slides a manual.
But whatever camera you uses. It is important that the person that takes the pictures must be able to handle the camera well. A further, not more insignificantly, point is the price.
